Job Description:
Summary: Assists in the financial administration of all grants awarded to the College by Triumph Gulf Coast, Inc. and other duties as assigned. Reports to the Assistant Comptroller.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manages all grants awarded by Triumph Gulf Coast, Inc., ensuring compliance with contracts, budgets, spending, and outcomes.
- Maintains appropriate, accurate records and files of financial and related information for the Triumph grant funds and any required matching funds.
- Prepares various financial and related reports as required by the District Board of Trustees, and Triumph Gulf Coast, Inc., and as mandated by federal and state laws.
- Oversees the preparation of supporting documentation and submits all funding requests to Triumph.
- Prepares all budget amendment requests for submission to Triumph.
- Prepares journal entries for appropriate adjustments to the College’s accounting records.
- Reviews and approves purchase requisitions, budget amendments, travel authorizations, check requisitions, personnel costing, and other financial transactions related to the Triumph grants.
- Reconciles accounts, investigates discrepancies, and takes appropriate action.
- Reads, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations and contracts.
- Prepares business correspondence and procedures as needed.
- Presents information and responds to questions from Triumph and College personnel.
- Responsible for knowing and conforming to all safety practices and regulations that apply to this specific area and position. Unsafe conditions should be reported to the immediate supervisor and to the Pensacola State College Police Department/Public Safety.
- Supervisory duties as assigned.
- Performs other duties for the College as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Ability to create written correspondence.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledgeable in database software, payroll systems, spreadsheet programs, and word processing software.
- Operates office equipment: desktop computer, copier machine, printers, and calculators.
- Must possess advanced mathematical skills for addition, subtraction, fractions, percentages, and balancing numbers.
Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited institution with a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. Successful results of a criminal background check are required.
Salary Range: $45,000.00 - $52,000.00
Pursuant to College policy, it is an employment eligibility requirement for an applicant to meet the requirements of § 435.04(2), Florida Statutes, related to background investigations. Any person failing to meet the requirements of the statute will be deemed not qualified to hold employment in this position. A Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) approved background check will be conducted on every successful candidate as a condition of employment, and any person who fails to disclose any adverse information contained in the background investigation at the time of submitting the employment application will be disqualified from employment.
